What to do in the first 48 hours after an Arizona car accident

Get checked out — even if you feel fine

Adrenaline hides injuries. A prompt medical record also ties your injuries to the crash, which matters later when an insurer argues they came from something else.

Document everything

• Photos of vehicles, the scene, and your injuries
• The other driver's insurance and contact information
• Names and numbers of any witnesses
• The police report number

Be careful what you say to the other insurer

Adjusters may call quickly and sound friendly. Early recorded statements are frequently used to reduce or deny claims. You are not required to give one before speaking with your own attorney.

Mind the deadline
